Stupid thoughts --

It's a tough decision: now do I bathe in the creek or do I use the tap water? Even the library is dumping.

Well, ridiculous amounts of chlorine and other industrial byproducts do reduce the biological activity in the tap water, in a controlled way, at some times. And getting my fluoride is so important to me. And I feel lucky that the smell helps to remind me to get out of the shower before I get dizzy.

But the creek is so energizing! It obviously has better quality water. Rolling out of the mountains, it's probably got better water than most places in the country, despite all the mining runoff. The chlorine and other industrial byproducts don't smell as obvious in the creek either.

WOW! Ever notice that port-o-potty right next to the creek? Hey, at least it was cleaned up by 4:20. Wouldn't want to interrupt a session.

BTW, there is a MAJOR eddy downstream that collects trash, just west of 55th. I wrote to authorities about a volunteer cleanup and they ignored me. I then wrote to authorities about a local business with leaking CAR BATTERIES stored along the drainage - they ignored me.
We pay for environmentalism, they advertise it, but are 100% certain to ignore inquiries and volunteer help, and do nothing themselves.

Meanwhile, the BC pool of waste remains year after year. The curvature of the creek means a pool roughly 30 ft across that has THOUSANDS of pieces of litter.oil cans.

While we are on the subject, there is a MAJOR DISASTER adjacent the tracks on Eldorado Mtn, between tunnels 4 & 5. Several hundred 30 gallon barrels of railroad lubricant dumped, some with inches of "Toxic" and "Lead-Containing" oil remaining in the barrels, dripping. I have pictures. The drainage below is devoid of life and the lead-based lubricant is flowing into the creeks. Go walk the tracks and checkout how Boulder, the railroad and OSMP IGNORES MAJOR ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTERS. Between tunnels 4 & 5, next downhill side of the tracks - steep talus - go see!

Thanks visitor. Dumping in the creek is outrageous. I'm guessing that some of the authorities might view offering a response to your concern like it would be admitting a real problem when they still have a chance to ignore it. Boulder is beautiful in a lot of natural ways but a lot of people here seem crazy to me when they act like the town automatically eleveates it's residents to some higher plane of consciousness. It doesn't. Business rules.
